I participated in a fascinating meeting recently with a client in Germany. The focus of the meeting was customer relationship management excellence, and they brought people together from a XBU, or cross Business Unit, perspective. They were working on collaboration and best practices to manage a coordinated effort with a disparate team that, although well intended, have different objectives and areas of focus. I had a chance to do a couple of things. One of them was to share the IMPAX Process with the group (some had been previously trained and some had not), as they understood the power of using a common process and language across the team.
The second thing I did was present on "Best Practices for Managing a Virtual Team". The key learnings came from a series of research interviews I did with high performers, one of which served as the inspiration for the may Tip of the Month...
