In the last few postings I have reflected on the power of setting goals, and the fact that so few of us have them. Here are a few quotes from people smarter than me about the power of setting goals!

"A goal properly set is halfway reached." - Zig Ziglar

"Goals in writing are dreams with deadlines." - Brian Tracy

"People with goals succeed because they know where they are going." - Earle Nightingale

Here is another quote by Zig Ziglar that raises another great point: "If you want to reach a goal, you must 'see the reaching' in your own mind before you actually arrive at your goal."

In other words, another powerful strategy to reaching our goals is to (after setting them) visualize reaching them. Think about these questions:

• What will it feel like when I reach this goal?
• How will things be different?
• How will people react to me?

The more specific we are the better. The clearer we can see this positive future state, the better the odds we can get there!
